Raleigh

Known as the City of Oaks for all the majestic oak trees in and around the city. The City of Raleigh was chartered in 1792 as the Capital of North Carolina. Raleigh has a rich history as one of the South’s first established industrial areas. North Carolina is known for being a state filled with working men and women who valued education and established the nation’s first state university. North Carolina’s appreciation of education also created a notable public school system and the nation’s best community college system. Though firmly in the grip of the hard times of the 1920s, North Carolina invested in a statewide network of paved thoroughfares and became known as “the good roads state”. The state of North Carolina recognized early on that the lifeline of economic growth was a statewide transportation network.

Today, Raleigh is a charming Southern city with big city opportunity. Each year Raleigh continues to receive a host of awards and accolades. These include top 5 for “America’s Next Boom Towns”, “7 Hottest Startup Hubs Outside of Silicon Valley”, Top 3 for “Best Cities for Young Families” and the list goes on.
